Wohoo! My goal for this month was to reach 600 sales and now I'm only 3 sales away! I'm so excited about it, too. I'm starting to finally feel successful and like I'm accomplishing something!

New SCENTED Necklaces!

I've been searching for something to make my jewelry extra special and unique, and I decided that I was going to try to make scented jewelry. And it was a looong journey, but I finally perfected the process! So I'm not introducing my new line of scented resin jewelry! The scents are actually incorporated into the actual pendant itself, so it won't fade in a few days. The scent will last months! But the scent isn't too overpowering either.

Plans for the Future

I have so many big plans for the future! I have new products that I'd like to create and new projects that I want to start. The main plan I have is getting a stuffed animal line created. But the biggest thing holding me back is the initial start up cost. So I'm hoping that my shop does well enough to get that started very soon in the future! Here's one design that I plan on making into a stuffed animal within the next few years:

I also plan on getting some acrylic or laser cut jewelry made sometime in the future! :)

New Resin Dome Rings

I'm so excited about my new line of rings! They're 100% handmade from resin. For now, only size 6 is available, but if they become popular, I will add more sizes. They look amazing in person and they're super comfortable to wear, too! Some have glitter and some even have real candy sprinkles! They're all for sale in my shop.

Fashion Candy Update

What has Fashion Candy been up to lately? Good question! I've been so busy coming up with new creations. I'm also having a BOGO sale in my shop! Buy any one item and get a second of equal or lesser value for 50% off!

The items I'm most proud of are my Portable Fish Tank necklaces! I had never seen anything like them before, and they're so cute and fun. Here's an example:

It looks like a real little fish tank. They're the best kind of fish, too...the kind you never have to flush! They come in tons of different styles, too. Check my shop for more options.

I've also been working on some new prints. I even had some postcards made. They're the cutest postcards ever! They come in a set of three and they're all from the True Love series.

I've only been working on it for a few days. It still needs TONS and tons of work, but I think it's looking pretty good.

I'm doing it completely from scratch. I'm not using any templates or anything. So it's very time consuming.

What do you think of it? Does it look ok so far? I'd love any suggestions or critiques.

Love My Job!

I've been working hard on making new items. To be honest, I thought I'd be completely burnt out with jewelry making by now. But I'm really really not! I'm still having just as much fun as ever creating my adorable resin pendants. It surprises me.

I hear all the time about people who get so sick of making the same thing day in and day out. I can only think of how lucky I am to be doing what I love every single day and still loving it after so long. I'm also incredibly lucky that other people love my work as well! Thanks to you all! You're my inspiration to keep going.

New Cameo Necklaces!

I really love making my new cameo necklaces! I had been searching for a new way to use resin, and this is perfect. I think they end up looking really sweet and adorable. I developed a way to make the entire cameo setting completely out of resin. I haven't seen anyone else do that before, so I'm very proud of myself! Here's some of my cameo necklaces. What Exactly Is Resin?

I LOVE making resin jewelry. It's tons of fun to use.

Right now you might be wondering to yourself, "What the heck is resin?!?" I'll be happy to explain.

Resin is a two-part material that when mixed together will harden into a plastic. The 3 main types of Resins are Epoxy, Polyester and Poly-Urethane based. Each type of material requires a base and then an activator to be mixed to cause a chemical reaction. Most resins give off an odor that can be offensive, even it is used in open well-ventilated spaces. In the case of the Epoxy and Polyster resins the mixture can be tricky because the percent of activator is usually different from the amount of the base. Also it not unusual for these resin to take hours to set-up and sometimes a full 24 hours is necessary for complete curing. One advantage of that these materials is they can allow longer working times after pouring the resin into a mold.

Because of its versatility, lightness, plus the introduction of easy to mix, non-toxic, low-odor products, resin's popularity has soared. Resin has a wonderful appeal for its glass-like properties from crystal clear to translucent glowing hues.

I just thought I'd post a little about how important it is to vote! I don't care what your political views are or who you're voting for. If you don't vote, your opinion will never be heard.

Perhaps you think, "my vote doesn't count anyway". Or maybe you think "one person can't make a difference, so why bother"? But your vote does count!

A single vote sends a message to national leaders and holds them accountable for their actions! Your vote shows your stance on important issues. Without voting, there could be no democracy.

So, I hope you voted today, even if you think it won't make a difference.
